Insiculous Breakout

playable

A tong that bites, Deion as the ball, and six tiers of food bricks on the kitchen counter.

Checking WebGPU…

Insiculous Breakout runs on an HTML canvas and needs a keyboard or gamepad. The controls are listed below the game.

Click the game to give it keyboard focus. Menus: W/S or arrows to navigate, Space/Enter to confirm, Esc to go back — a gamepad works too. All keys are remappable in the game.

The paddle is a tong lying on the kitchen counter and the ball is Deion, a water ball the size of a meatball. Where he meets the tong aims him, up to 60°, with mouse or keyboard control — and the tong bites: push toward the wall (W or ↑, or hold the right mouse button) to close it, pull back to open. Bite just as he lands and it’s a chomp shot: he leaves steeper and faster.

The wall is six tiers of food, watermelon at the base up to donuts at the top. Armored bricks come foil-wrapped and tear a little with each hit, and some bricks drop wrapped candies: an extra Deion, a frozen Deion who breaks any brick in one hit for ten seconds, or both.

Eight levels, all hand-authored in the engine’s scene editor — CLASSIC, THE VAULT, PINATA, and THE GAUNTLET, each with a two-player co-op variant. Ten achievements, chaos modes included.

Built on Insiculous 2D. Playable right here in the browser (WebGPU — Chrome/Edge, or Firefox with dom.webgpu.enabled); desktop builds (Vulkan / Metal / DX12) run the same code natively.
